Wilder Sheep Company is based in Caldwell, ID and maintains a flock of Registered Suffolk ewes and crossbred show ewes. Our goal is to meld high performance with practicality to provide seedstock and show lambs that are structurally sound, easy keeping, and possess excellent carcass traits.

Steve founded the Registered Suffolk operation in 1968 and brought show lamb genetics into the flock in 2001. In January 2020, Brett and Liz moved back to the family ranch and are now full-fledged partners in the operation. For those more interested in eating lamb than raising or showing it, Liz and Brett established a retail arm – Boise River Lamb – in July 2020. 

Raising Suffolks and commercial range rams is our “bread-and-butter.” Most of our ewe-base can be traced back to genetics that we’ve cultivated over the past 50 years. Our flock has been heavily influenced by Alan Batt, Andrus Suffolks, and MacCauley Suffolks.

The show lamb flock was founded with ewes from Tewalt Livestock and has been heavily influenced by Fisher Club Lamb genetics.
